Arrive Sydney · Evening at Circular Quay — Our representative meets you at Sydney Airport after immigration, customs and the biosecurity check, and drives you to your hotel, about 30 minutes. Standard check-in is from 2:00–3:00 pm; early check-in depends on availability. After a rest, an easy walk around Circular Quay to see the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge lit up in the evening. Visa & entry
Every family member, including infants, needs an Australian Visitor visa (subclass 600, Tourist stream) before travel. VK Tours lodges Australian visitor visas for clients through our own ImmiAccount as your registered agent, and we can file the whole family's applications together. You will usually need passports valid for the whole trip (we recommend 6 months), 6 months of bank statements, income tax returns, a leave letter from your employer or proof of your business, children's birth certificates and school letters, and consent from both parents if a child travels with only one parent. Processing often takes 3–6 weeks but can be longer, so apply at least 8–10 weeks before travel and do not buy non-refundable flights until the visas are granted. Applicants may be asked to give biometrics at a VFS Global centre. The visa fee is set by the Australian government and usually changes each July; we confirm it when you apply.
Good to know
Australia has strict biosecurity rules. Declare all food on your arrival card, including baby food, pickles, spices, sweets and snacks. Undeclared items can lead to heavy fines.
Gold Coast theme parks have height limits on the bigger rides. Check your children's heights on the park websites so no one is disappointed.
Seasons are the reverse of India's. During Indian summer holidays (May–June) Sydney and Melbourne are cool (8–18°C) and Phillip Island evenings are cold and windy; pack warm jackets and caps for the children.
Indian vegetarian food is easy in Sydney and Melbourne but limited inside theme parks; carry snacks and water bottles.
Beaches are patrolled by lifeguards: always swim between the red and yellow flags.
The currency is the Australian dollar (AUD). Cards and tap-to-pay work almost everywhere; tipping is not expected.

Is the pace okay for small children and grandparents?
Yes. The trip has 4 nights in each of the first two cities, so there is little packing, and each theme park day is a single park. Grandparents who prefer not to do the parks can rest at the hotel or the beach.
Are the theme park tickets included?
Yes, one-day tickets to Warner Bros. Movie World and Sea World are included. Dreamworld and Wet'n'Wild can be added at extra cost.
Can VK Tours apply for visas for the whole family?
Yes. We lodge Australian visitor visas (subclass 600) through our own ImmiAccount and file the family's applications together, including children's documents.
Are flights included?
No. International flights and the two domestic flights are quoted separately. We can send you a combined quote from Hyderabad, Chennai or Bengaluru.
What is the best time for a family trip to Australia?
September–October and March–April are the most comfortable. Indian summer holidays (May–June) work well too, but bring warm clothes for Sydney and Melbourne.
