Visa & entry

Indian passport holders need an e-visa before travel. Apply online on the official ASAN Visa portal, evisa.gov.az. The standard e-visa costs about USD 25 and is issued in about 3 working days; an urgent option issued within about 3 hours costs more. It is a single-entry visa for a stay of up to 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival, with two blank pages. Print the e-visa and carry it with your passport. Visitors staying more than 15 days must register with the State Migration Service, which hotels usually do for you.

Good to know

Questions travellers ask

Is the Ateshgah fire temple connected to India?

Yes. Indian traders on the old caravan routes used it as a place of fire worship, and several of the cells still have inscriptions in Sanskrit and Punjabi, along with a small museum on its history.

Are the mud volcanoes safe for children and elderly people?

The mud is cold and the cones are small, so it is safe to walk around them. The Lada taxi ride on dirt tracks is bumpy, so people with back problems may prefer to stay at the Gobustan museum.

Do we need a visa for Azerbaijan?

Yes, an e-visa applied online at evisa.gov.az. The standard visa usually comes in about 3 working days. We can apply for you if you send us a passport scan and a photo.

Will we get Indian vegetarian food?

Yes. Baku has several Indian restaurants near Fountain Square and the Boulevard, and the hotel breakfast has vegetarian options.

Are flights included?

No. The package starts and ends in Baku. There are direct flights from Delhi, and we can book connecting flights from Vijayawada or Hyderabad and send you a combined quote.
