Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Bengaluru · drive to Coorg via Bylakuppe — Our driver meets you at Bengaluru airport or railway station for the drive to Coorg (about 265 km, 6–6.5 hours via the Mysuru road). On the way, stop at the Namdroling Monastery in Bylakuppe, one of the largest Tibetan settlements in India, known for its gold-painted prayer hall. You reach your stay in Coorg by late afternoon or early evening. The rest of the day is free; Coorg evenings are…
Coorg sightseeing · Abbey Falls and Raja's Seat — If you wish, start early with a visit to Dubare Elephant Camp on the Kaveri river (optional; entry and activities paid locally, and the elephant interaction usually happens only in the morning). After breakfast, visit Abbey Falls, a short walk down through coffee and pepper plantations, and the Omkareshwara temple in Madikeri town. Coorg is the home of the Kodava people and grows much of India's…
Coorg to Chikmagalur · Belur temple on the way — After breakfast, drive to Chikmagalur (about 180 km, 4.5–5 hours via Hassan). On the way, visit the Chennakeshava Temple at Belur, built by the Hoysala kings in the 12th century and known for its finely carved soapstone figures; it is part of the UNESCO-listed Hoysala temple group. Shoes are left outside, and modest clothing is expected. Reach Chikmagalur by late afternoon and check in.
Chikmagalur · Mullayanagiri and coffee estate walk — Drive up to Mullayanagiri (about 1,930 m, Karnataka's highest peak) early in the morning, when the views are clearest; the last stretch is a short climb on steps, and vehicle entry is sometimes regulated on weekends and holidays. Continue along the ridge to the Baba Budangiri shrine, where, by local tradition, the first coffee seeds in India were planted in the 1600s. In the afternoon, take a…
Chikmagalur to Bengaluru · departure — After breakfast, check out and drive back to Bengaluru (about 250–280 km, 5.5–6 hours to the airport). You can stop at a coffee shop in town to buy fresh estate coffee before leaving. For a flight the same day, plan a departure after about 4 pm, or ask us to drop you at a city hotel or the railway station instead.

Good to know
Both towns are cool from November to February (often 12–25 °C). Carry a light jacket and comfortable walking shoes.
Roads in Coorg and Chikmagalur are narrow and winding. Carry motion-sickness tablets if anyone in your family needs them.
Leeches appear on estate paths in the monsoon (June–September). Estates usually give salt or leech socks.
Mullayanagiri and Baba Budangiri can get crowded on weekends, when vehicle entry is sometimes regulated. A weekday visit is easier.
Many estate stays serve home-style Kodava and Malnad food. Tell us in advance if you need pure vegetarian or less spicy meals.
UPI works in most places, but mobile signal is weak on some estates. Keep some cash.
Questions travellers ask
Is this suitable for elderly parents?
Yes, mostly. Sightseeing is by car with short walks. Abbey Falls has about 100 steps, and the last part of Mullayanagiri has steps; both can be skipped.
Can we stay on a real coffee estate?
Yes. We book plantation homestays or estate resorts where available, which is why the package uses estate stays rather than town hotels.
Can we add Mysore?
Yes. Mysore fits on Day 1 (with one night there) or at the end. That adds a day; ask us for the revised quote.
Is Dubare Elephant Camp included?
The visit is optional and paid locally. The elephant activities are usually only in the morning, so we plan Day 2 around it if you want to go.
Does the price include flights?
No. The package starts and ends in Bengaluru. We can quote flights or trains from Vijayawada or Hyderabad separately.
