Kashmir Tulip Festival

5 Days / 4 Nights. From ₹42,000 per person (twin sharing), plus 5% GST.

A 5-day spring tour timed for the tulip season in Srinagar, usually from late March to mid-April. Day trips to Gulmarg and Sonamarg add snow, which usually lingers in early spring.

Highlights

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Arrive Srinagar · Shikara ride · Houseboat — Our driver meets you at Srinagar airport and takes you to your houseboat on Dal Lake, about 14 km and 30–40 minutes away. Rest after the flight, then take a one-hour shikara ride in the late afternoon, past the Char Chinar island and the floating market area. The shikara ride is included. Spring evenings are cool (around 5–8 °C), so keep a jacket handy. Overnight on the houseboat.
  2. Tulip Garden · Mughal Gardens of Srinagar — After breakfast, check out of the houseboat and go to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden at the foot of the Zabarwan hills, ideally when it opens around 9 am, before the crowds. It has more than 1.5 million tulips in over 70 varieties on terraced beds; the 2026 ticket was ₹75 for adults and ₹30 for children, paid at the gate. Next door is the Botanical Garden. After lunch, visit Chashme…
  3. Day trip to Gulmarg — After breakfast, drive to Gulmarg via Tangmarg, about 50 km and 1.5–2 hours. In late March and April, Gulmarg usually still has snow on and around the meadow, and more higher up. The Gulmarg Gondola is optional: Phase 1 goes to Kongdori and Phase 2 towards Apharwat, where snow is almost certain in spring. Tickets are sold online by the J&K Cable Car Corporation, and Phase 2 often stops in strong…
  4. Day trip to Sonamarg — After breakfast, drive to Sonamarg along the Sindh river, about 80 km and 2.5–3 hours. In spring there is usually snow around Thajiwas Glacier, about 3 km from the main meadow, which you can reach on foot or by pony (optional, paid directly). Zoji La and Zero Point are usually still closed in early spring. Return to Srinagar by evening, and if time allows, visit the Hazratbal shrine on the way…
  5. Departure from Srinagar — After breakfast, check out. If your flight is later in the day, you can make a second, quieter morning visit to the Tulip Garden (ticket paid at the gate) or shop for saffron, walnuts and pashmina. You will then be dropped at Srinagar airport. Airport security takes time, so plan to arrive 2.5–3 hours before your flight.

Questions travellers ask

When exactly does the Tulip Garden open?

It usually opens between the third week of March and early April and stays open for about 3–5 weeks, with peak bloom in the first half of April. The exact date is announced each year, and we confirm it before fixing your travel dates.

Will we see snow in April?

Usually yes, at Gulmarg (especially at Gondola Phase 2) and around Thajiwas Glacier in Sonamarg. Srinagar itself does not have snow in spring.

Is this tour suitable for elderly parents?

Yes. The whole trip is based in Srinagar, drives are 1.5–3 hours each way, and the gardens can be seen at your own pace. Ponies are available at Gulmarg and Sonamarg for anyone who does not want to walk.

Are the Tulip Garden tickets included?

No. Tickets are bought at the gate and are inexpensive (₹75 for adults and ₹30 for children in 2026). Mughal Garden tickets are also paid at each gate.

Are flights included?

No, the price is for the land package from Srinagar airport. We can quote flights from Hyderabad, Vijayawada or your city separately. Tulip season fares rise quickly, so book early.
