Drives are mostly short, apart from the Khardung La crossing, and there is no night at Pangong, which keeps the altitude more manageable.

Good to know
Monastery etiquette: dress modestly (covered shoulders and knees), remove shoes and caps where asked, walk clockwise around stupas and prayer wheels, and do not touch images or sit with your feet pointing at the altar. Ask before photographing monks.
Monasteries open early, usually around 7–8 am, and some close for a lunch break. Some halls do not allow photography, and a few charge a camera fee.
Altitude: Leh is at 3,500 m and Khardung La at about 5,359 m. Rest on Day 1, drink 3–4 litres of water a day and avoid alcohol. Seniors and anyone with heart, lung or blood pressure problems should consult a doctor before booking.
Monasteries are cold inside, even in summer. Carry a warm layer, a small torch for dark prayer halls and comfortable slip-on shoes.
Only postpaid mobile connections work in Ladakh. Carry cash for entry fees and offerings; ATMs in Leh can run out.
Vegetarian food is easy to find in Leh, and the Nubra camps serve simple vegetarian dal, rice, roti and sabzi.
Questions travellers ask
Is this tour suitable for senior citizens?
It is gentler than most Ladakh tours, with short drives on most days and no night at Pangong. Seniors in good health often do it comfortably, but please consult your doctor first because of the altitude, especially for Khardung La.
Can we attend a monastery festival?
Yes, if your dates match. The Hemis festival is usually in June or early July, and other monasteries hold festivals through the year. Dates follow the Tibetan calendar, so tell us your preferred month and we will check.
Is a guide included at the monasteries?
No. Your driver knows the route, and monks or caretakers often explain the halls. A local guide can be arranged at extra cost for those who want detailed history.
Are flights included?
No. The price is for the land package from Leh airport. We can quote flights from Hyderabad, Vijayawada or your city separately.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Leh has many vegetarian restaurants, including some serving South Indian food, and the Nubra camps cook simple vegetarian meals.
