4 Days / 3 Nights. From ₹65,000 per person (twin sharing), plus 5% GST and 2% TCS.
A value 4-day Maldives trip based on Maafushi, a local inhabited island about 30–45 minutes by speedboat from Malé. You stay in a guesthouse or small hotel near the tourist beach, go on a boat trip to snorkel the nearby reefs and take a sunset cruise to look for dolphins. It costs far less than a private-island resort, with the trade-off that local-island rules apply, including no alcohol on the island.

Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Malé · Speedboat to Maafushi — On arrival at Velana International Airport, clear immigration (show your IMUGA QR code) and meet the guesthouse representative in the arrivals hall. The shared speedboat to Maafushi takes about 30–45 minutes and runs at fixed times, so there may be a short wait at the jetty. Check in to your guesthouse with a welcome drink. Spend the afternoon at the tourist beach, where swimwear is allowed, and…
Snorkelling boat trip — After breakfast, join a half-day snorkelling trip by boat (about 3 hours) with equipment and a guide provided. The boat usually stops at two or three nearby reefs, where you may see turtles, reef fish and sometimes nurse sharks or stingrays, depending on conditions on the day. Life jackets are available for weaker swimmers. The afternoon is free; resort day passes, a sandbank trip and diving can…
Free morning · Sunset dolphin cruise — The morning is free for the beach or an optional trip. In the late afternoon, board the sunset dolphin cruise of about 1.5–2 hours. Spinner dolphins are seen on most trips, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Return to Maafushi after sunset for dinner at one of the island's cafés, at your own cost unless it is one of your included dinners.
Speedboat to Malé · Departure — After breakfast and check-out, take the shared speedboat back to Velana International Airport, about 30–45 minutes. Boat times are fixed, so we book the departure that gets you to the airport at least 3 hours before your international flight. The Maldives departure tax is normally included in your airline ticket.

Visa & entry
Indian passport holders do not need a visa in advance. A free tourist visa is given on arrival, normally for up to 30 days. At immigration you need a passport valid for at least one month beyond your stay (we recommend six months), a confirmed return ticket, a confirmed and paid hotel or guesthouse booking for your full stay, and enough funds for the trip. Every traveller must also fill in the free IMUGA Traveller Declaration online (imuga.immigration.gov.mv) within 96 hours before the flight lands and show the QR code; no declaration is needed to leave.
Good to know
Maafushi is a local Muslim island. Alcohol is not sold or allowed on the island, and outside the tourist beach you should cover shoulders and knees. Some operators run 'floating bar' boats offshore at extra cost.
Guesthouses charge a green tax of USD 6 per person per night (children under 2 are exempt), plus tourism GST. These are not part of the package price and are shown separately in your quote.
Friday is the weekly holiday. Some shops close for Friday prayers around midday, and public ferries do not run, but private speedboats do.
Carry US dollars in small notes. Cafés and guesthouses accept USD and many take cards, but Indian rupees are not accepted.
Do not carry alcohol, pork products or religious material for others into the Maldives. Customs prohibits them and will confiscate them at the airport.
Use reef-safe sunscreen, and do not stand on or touch coral while snorkelling.
Questions travellers ask
How is a local island different from a resort?
On Maafushi you stay in a guesthouse in a real village, with cafés and shops nearby and prices much lower than at resorts. The trade-offs are no alcohol on the island, a dress code outside the tourist beach, and simpler rooms instead of overwater villas.
Is vegetarian food available on Maafushi?
Yes. Maldivian food uses a lot of fish, but island cafés serve vegetarian rice, noodles, pasta and curries, and guesthouses can prepare vegetarian meals if told in advance. Jain food is harder to arrange, so tell us at booking.
Are dolphins guaranteed on the cruise?
No. Spinner dolphins are seen on most trips around Maafushi, but they are wild animals and sightings depend on the day.
Do Indians need a visa for the Maldives?
No advance visa is needed. You get a free tourist visa on arrival, normally for up to 30 days, if you have a valid passport, a return ticket, a confirmed guesthouse booking and the IMUGA declaration QR code.
Are flights included?
No, the price covers the island stay, speedboat transfers and the two boat trips. We quote flights to Malé separately; there are direct flights from Hyderabad and other south Indian cities on several days a week.
