A 6-day Maldives holiday for families at an island resort chosen for children: a kids' club, a shallow sandy lagoon and a speedboat transfer from Malé. Parents get time to relax while children join supervised activities.

Highlights

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Arrive Malé · Transfer to your family resort — On arrival at Velana International Airport, Malé, clear immigration (every family member, including children, needs an IMUGA QR code), then meet the resort representative in the arrivals hall. Your transfer is by speedboat (usually 20–60 minutes for resorts in the Malé atolls) or by seaplane (about 30–60 minutes), depending on the resort; life jackets in children's sizes are provided. Check in…
  2. Lagoon day · Kids' club and first snorkel — After breakfast, spend the morning in the shallow lagoon, which is calm and sandy at most family resorts. Children aged about 4–12 can join the kids' club, where typical activities include treasure hunts, crab walks, sandcastles and craft sessions; younger children usually need a parent or a paid babysitter. In the afternoon, collect snorkelling gear, including children's sizes, and try the…
  3. Optional dolphin cruise or glass-bottom boat — A relaxed day with the kids' club in the morning and the beach after lunch. In the late afternoon, an optional sunset dolphin cruise of about 1.5–2 hours, or a glass-bottom boat trip that lets younger children and non-swimmers see the reef without getting wet, is a good family outing; both are paid at the resort. Dinner is at the resort.
  4. Free day · Optional sandbank picnic — A free day at the resort. Older children and teenagers can try a beginner's activity such as a snorkelling lesson or, from about age 10, a Discover Scuba session (optional, paid locally). A sandbank picnic by boat, a local-island visit and motorised water sports such as a banana boat ride are other optional extras. Parents can book a spa treatment while the children are at the kids' club.
  5. Last full day at the resort — Spend the last full day as the family likes: a final snorkel, a paddle in the lagoon or a farewell session at the kids' club. Many resorts hold a weekly beach barbecue or family movie night; check the schedule when you arrive. Watch the sunset before your last dinner at the resort.
  6. Departure from Malé — Have breakfast and check out. Check-out is usually at noon, and the resort times your speedboat or seaplane transfer to your flight; ask about a day room if your flight is late, at extra cost. Plan to reach Velana International Airport at least 3 hours before an international departure. The Maldives departure tax is normally included in your airline ticket.

Visa & entry

Indian passport holders, including children, do not need a visa in advance. A free tourist visa is given on arrival, normally for up to 30 days. At immigration each traveller needs a passport valid for at least one month beyond the stay (we recommend six months), a confirmed return ticket, a confirmed and paid resort booking for the full stay, and enough funds for the trip. Every traveller must also fill in the free IMUGA Traveller Declaration online (imuga.immigration.gov.mv) within 96 hours before the flight lands and show the QR code; no declaration is needed to leave.

Good to know

Questions travellers ask

Is the kids' club free?

At most family resorts, the kids' club and its regular daily activities are free for resort guests, while babysitting and some special activities are charged. We confirm your resort's rules and age limits before you book.

Is food included for the children?

Yes, breakfast and dinner are included for everyone booked in the villa, and children's menus are available. Lunch, snacks and drinks are extra; we can quote full board or all-inclusive if you prefer.

Is vegetarian and child-friendly Indian food available?

Yes. Resort buffets always have vegetarian dishes, and most 5-star resorts can prepare simple Indian food such as dal, rice and roti, as well as Jain meals on request. Tell us at booking.

Do children need a visa or the IMUGA form?

No advance visa is needed, but every child needs their own passport and their own IMUGA declaration QR code. We help you fill in the forms for the whole family.

Are flights included?

No, the price covers the resort stay and transfers. We quote flights to Malé separately; there are direct flights from Hyderabad and other Indian cities on several days a week.
