A 6-day active holiday split between Flic en Flac on the west coast and Grand Baie in the north, with breakfast and dinner daily. The activity fees are quoted with your booking. A guided tour on the way north covers Chamarel, the Black River Gorges and Grand Bassin.

Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Mauritius · transfer to Flic en Flac — Our representative meets you at SSR International Airport after immigration and customs and drives you to your hotel at Flic en Flac on the west coast, about 50 minutes to 1 hour away. Standard check-in is usually from 2:00 pm. Spend the afternoon on Flic en Flac's long public beach, one of the best on the island for sunsets. Dinner is at the hotel.
Dolphin boat trip in Tamarin Bay — An early start: boats leave Tamarin Bay (about 15 minutes from the hotel) around 7:00 am, because dolphin trips are allowed only in the morning. The skipper looks for the resident spinner and bottlenose dolphins; sightings are common but not guaranteed. Where conditions and the rules allow, you can slip into the water with mask and snorkel, keeping your distance and following the crew's…
Chamarel, Black River Gorges and Grand Bassin · move to Grand Baie — Check out after breakfast for a guided touring day on the way north. Drive up to Chamarel (about 40 minutes) for the Seven Coloured Earth and the Chamarel Waterfall; the Chamarel zipline and other adventure parks nearby are optional extras. Continue to the Black River Gorges viewpoint and Grand Bassin (Ganga Talao), with its Shiva temple and tall statues; dress modestly and remove footwear at…
Try-dive in the morning · parasailing in the afternoon — In the morning, a beginner's try-dive (Discover Scuba) with a licensed dive centre near Grand Baie or Trou aux Biches. After a safety briefing and practice in shallow water, you make one dive of about 30–40 minutes to a maximum of 12 metres with your instructor. No certificate is needed, but you must be able to swim and fill in a medical form; the usual minimum age is 10. In the afternoon, go…
Blue Safari submarine dive · afternoon free — In the morning, a short transfer to Trou aux Biches for the Blue Safari submarine, which takes passengers down to about 35 metres to see the reef, fish and a shipwreck through large portholes. The whole activity takes about 2 hours, including the boat ride out to the submarine, and you stay dry throughout, so it suits non-swimmers too. The submarine is priced separately in your quote. The…
Departure from Mauritius — Breakfast and check-out, usually by 11:00 am or 12:00 noon. Transfer to SSR International Airport (about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes), reaching about 3 hours before your international flight. Avoid diving in the 18 hours before your flight; this itinerary keeps the dive on Day 4 for that reason.

Visa & entry
Indian passport holders do not need a visa in advance for a holiday in Mauritius. A free entry permit is given on arrival by immigration, and the length of stay allowed is well beyond this trip. Carry a passport valid for your whole stay (we recommend at least 6 months), your confirmed return ticket, your hotel bookings and proof of funds, as the officer may ask for them. Before your flight, fill in the free All-in-One Travel Digital Form at safemauritius.govmu.org and keep the QR code ready on arrival.
Good to know
Sea activities depend on weather and sea conditions. If one is cancelled, we move it to another day where possible.
Try-dives need a signed medical form; people with heart or lung conditions, ear problems or pregnancy should not dive. Do not fly within 18 hours of diving.
Mauritius regulates dolphin and whale watching: trips run in the morning only, boats must keep their distance, and swimming with whales is banned. Follow the skipper's instructions at all times.
Since 1 October 2025, hotels collect a tourist fee of €3 per person per night from guests aged 12 and above.
Vegetarian and Indian food is easy to find across the island, and hotel dinners always include vegetarian dishes.
The local currency is the Mauritian rupee (MUR); Indian rupees are not accepted. Carry some cash for activity tips and markets.
Questions travellers ask
Are the dolphin trip, diving, parasailing and submarine included?
They are planned into the itinerary and we pre-book them, but their fees are quoted separately in your booking, so you can drop any you do not want. Hotels, meals, transfers and the Day 3 tour are included.
Do I need to know swimming for these activities?
For the try-dive and swimming near the dolphins, yes. The submarine and parasailing do not need swimming, and life jackets are provided on all boat trips.
Can children join?
Children aged 10 and above can usually do the try-dive. Younger children can join the dolphin boat trip and the submarine; age limits vary by operator, so share ages with us when booking.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Hotel breakfasts and dinners include vegetarian dishes, and Indian restaurants are common in Grand Baie and Flic en Flac.
Do Indians need a visa for Mauritius?
No advance visa is needed. You get a free entry permit on arrival with a valid passport, return ticket, hotel booking and enough funds. Fill in the All-in-One Travel Digital Form online before you fly.
