Visa & entry
Singapore requires a visa for Indian passport holders. You cannot apply yourself: a Singapore-authorised visa agent in India files the application, and we arrange this for you. Approved visas are issued as an e-Visa, and processing usually takes 3–5 working days after submission. Apply with the passport you will travel on, which must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel. If the bride's passport is in her maiden name, book tickets and the visa in that same name. Before landing, fill in the free SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival.
Good to know
Singapore is hot and humid all year, about 26–33°C, with sudden short showers. Light cotton clothes and an umbrella are best; carry a light layer for air-conditioned malls.
At the Night Safari, wear comfortable shoes and use insect repellent. Flash photography is banned to protect the animals.
Vegetarian food is easy to find in Little India and most food courts. For a special dinner, Marina Bay and Clarke Quay have Indian fine-dining restaurants; book ahead on weekends.
Singapore has strict rules: no chewing gum in your luggage, no littering, and no eating or drinking on the MRT. Fines are enforced.
The currency is the Singapore dollar (SGD). Cards and contactless payments work almost everywhere, including the MRT gates. Power sockets are the UK three-pin type (Type G).
