Visa & entry
Indian passport holders need a visa for South Korea; Indians are not eligible for the K-ETA visa waiver. Apply for a short-term tourist visa (C-3-9) through the Korean visa application centre or embassy/consulate covering your state, with your confirmed flights, hotel bookings, itinerary, bank statements and ITRs. The single-entry fee is about ₹3,400 plus a service charge, and processing usually takes about 10 working days, so apply 3–4 weeks before travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Before landing, complete the free Korea e-Arrival Card online.
Good to know
Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays and Changdeokgung on Mondays. DMZ tours do not run on Mondays and need your original passport.
Korean food often uses fish sauce, meat broth or seafood, even in kimchi and soups. Vegetarians should look for Buddhist temple food restaurants and the Indian restaurants in Myeongdong and Itaewon; we share a list.
Bukchon Hanok Village is a residential area. Tourists may visit only between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm in the main lanes, and should keep noise down.
Carry a T-money card for the metro and buses; it can be topped up with cash at convenience stores. Cards are widely accepted, but some street stalls take cash only.
Shops showing a 'Tax Free' sign give an instant discount or a refund at the airport on purchases above the set minimum; carry your passport when shopping.
Expect a lot of walking and stairs, especially in metro stations and on the hills of Bukchon and Namsan.
Questions travellers ask
Do Indians need a visa for South Korea?
Yes. Indians need a tourist visa before travel and cannot use K-ETA. Apply about 3–4 weeks ahead with your bank statements, ITRs, and our itinerary and hotel confirmations; we help with the documents.
Is vegetarian food available in Seoul?
Yes, but it needs some care, as many Korean dishes contain fish or meat stock. There are Indian restaurants near Myeongdong and in Itaewon, and Buddhist temple-food restaurants are fully vegetarian. Hotel breakfasts have bread, fruit and eggs.
Is the DMZ tour included?
No. It is an optional day trip on Day 4, along with Nami Island and the theme parks. DMZ tours do not run on Mondays, and you must carry your original passport.
Can we visit a K-pop agency or see a live show?
Agency buildings are not open to visitors, but the itinerary covers K-Star Road and Gangnam, and we can book a K-pop dance class. Live music-show recordings and concerts depend on dates and need advance booking.
Are flights included?
No. We can quote flights to Incheon from Hyderabad, Chennai or Delhi separately, with and without the package.
