Visa & entry
Indian passport holders need a visa for South Korea; Indians are not eligible for the K-ETA visa waiver. Apply for a short-term tourist visa (C-3-9) through the Korean visa application centre or embassy/consulate covering your state, with your confirmed flights, hotel bookings, itinerary, bank statements and ITRs. The single-entry fee is about ₹3,400 plus a service charge, and processing usually takes about 10 working days. Spring is busy, so apply 4–6 weeks before travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. Before landing, complete the free Korea e-Arrival Card online.
Good to know
Cherry blossoms are at their best for about a week, and rain or wind can bring them down early. The south (Jinhae, Gyeongju, Busan) usually blooms about a week before Seoul, which is why the trip runs south first. We fix departure dates once the Korean bloom forecasts come out in February.
Festival areas in Jinhae and Yeouido are very crowded, especially at weekends. Expect slow traffic and queues; we start early to beat the crowds.
Spring days are about 8–18 °C, with chilly mornings and evenings. Pack layers, a light jacket and comfortable walking shoes.
Korean food often uses fish sauce, meat broth or seafood. Dinners are arranged with vegetarian options, including Indian restaurants in Seoul and Busan; temple-food restaurants are fully vegetarian.
Keep luggage to one medium suitcase per person; space on KTX trains is limited.
Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays. Carry a T-money card for metro rides, and some cash for festival food stalls.
Questions travellers ask
Can you guarantee the cherry blossoms?
No one can, as the weather decides. We time the trip for the usual bloom, south first and Seoul last, and fix dates after the official forecasts. In most years you see full bloom in at least two or three of the four places.
When should we travel?
Usually arriving between about 28 March and 2 April, so that Jinhae falls within its festival (27 March–5 April in 2026) and Seoul is in bloom at the end. We confirm the exact window each year.
Is this trip suitable for seniors?
Yes. Travel is by KTX and private vehicle, and the walks are mostly flat. Festival crowds and some stairs at the temples need a bit of patience.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes, with some planning. Hotel breakfasts have bread, fruit and eggs, and dinners are arranged with vegetarian options. Lunches are on your own; we share a list of vegetarian-friendly places.
Are flights included?
No. We can quote return flights to Incheon from Hyderabad, Chennai or Delhi separately, with and without the package.
