Yercaud to Salem · departure — After breakfast, enjoy a slow morning at the hotel, then check out and drive down to Salem (about 30 km, 1 hour) for your train or flight. You can buy Yercaud coffee and pepper in the town before leaving. If your train is late in the day, you can stop at the Sugavaneswarar temple or the 1008 Lingam temple near Salem on the way (optional).

Yercaud is mild all year (about 13–29 °C). A light sweater is enough for most of the year.
The ghat road from Salem has 20 hairpin bends. Carry motion-sickness tablets if needed.
Killiyur Falls is a steep walk down and back up; skip it with elderly parents or small children.
Yercaud is a small town with simple restaurants. Most hotels serve South Indian vegetarian food.
Salem Junction is on the main line to Kerala and Coimbatore, with trains from Vijayawada; check current timings.

How do we reach Salem from Andhra Pradesh?
By train is easiest: several Kerala- and Coimbatore-bound trains from Vijayawada stop at Salem Junction. Salem airport has limited flights. We pick you up at either.
Is two nights enough?
Yes. Yercaud is small, and two nights cover all the main viewpoints at a relaxed pace.
Is it good for senior citizens?
Yes. Everything except Killiyur Falls is reachable by car with short walks.
Does the price include train tickets?
No. We can book trains to Salem separately and send you a combined quote.
