Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Bangkok · Pratunam and Platinum Mall — Our representative meets you at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK), or Don Mueang (DMK) depending on your flight, and drives you to your hotel in the Pratunam area, about 45–60 minutes and longer in peak traffic. Check-in is usually from 2:00 pm. In the afternoon, walk to Platinum Fashion Mall, open daily from about 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and the street stalls of Pratunam Market for clothes at wholesale…
Golden Buddha and Wat Pho · MBK and Siam Paragon — After breakfast, a guided half-day city tour of about 3–4 hours: Wat Traimit, home of the 5.5-tonne solid gold Buddha, a drive through Chinatown, and Wat Pho with its 46-metre Reclining Buddha. Shoulders and knees must be covered at the temples. The tour drops you back at the hotel, from where it is a short taxi or BTS Skytrain ride to National Stadium station for MBK Center (electronics, phone…
Chatuchak Weekend Market · ICONSIAM · Asiatique — Chatuchak opens only on Saturdays and Sundays, from about 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, so we plan your dates to put this day on a weekend. Reach early, by BTS to Mo Chit or MRT to Chatuchak Park, before the midday heat; pick up a free map at the entrance, as the market has more than 10,000 stalls selling clothes, home décor, ceramics, plants and handicrafts. In the afternoon, take a taxi to ICONSIAM on…
Last-minute shopping · Departure — Breakfast and check-out, usually by 12:00 noon; the hotel can hold your bags if your flight is later. Use the morning for last purchases, such as dried fruit, snacks and Thai spices at Big C Ratchadamri across from Pratunam. Visa & entry
No visa is needed for tourism. Indian passport holders get visa-free entry for up to 30 days per visit (reduced from 60 days with effect from 15 September 2026). Before travel, fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours before arrival. Carry a passport valid for at least 6 months, your return ticket and hotel booking; immigration may ask for proof of funds (about THB 10,000 per person or THB 20,000 per family).
Good to know
Chatuchak is open on Saturdays and Sundays only. Book dates that include a weekend day; if your dates cannot, Day 3 is replaced by more time at ICONSIAM, Siam and Asiatique.
Bargaining is normal at Pratunam, Chatuchak and night markets, but not in malls. Large malls offer a VAT refund for tourists on purchases of THB 2,000 or more from participating shops in one day; ask for the form when you pay and claim it at the airport before check-in.
Check your airline's check-in baggage allowance before you shop. Excess baggage at the airport is expensive; buying extra baggage online in advance is cheaper.
The BTS Skytrain and MRT are the fastest way around in traffic. Buy a rechargeable Rabbit card, or pay at the gates with a contactless bank card on the MRT.
Under India's Baggage Rules 2026, each adult returning from abroad can bring goods worth up to INR 75,000 duty-free; declare anything above this at Indian customs.
The currency is the Thai baht (THB). Markets are mostly cash; malls take cards. Exchange money at SuperRich counters for better rates than the airport.
Questions travellers ask
Is Chatuchak open every day?
No. Chatuchak Weekend Market opens only on Saturdays and Sundays, from about 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Book dates that include a weekend day so we can plan it.
Is transport to the shopping places included?
Airport transfers and the city tour are included. For shopping, you move on your own by BTS Skytrain, MRT or Grab taxi, which is faster and cheaper than a private car in Bangkok traffic.
How much luggage can we bring back?
It depends on your airline and fare, usually 20–30 kg check-in on full-service airlines and less on low-cost fares. We can add extra baggage when we book your flights.
Will we get vegetarian food?
Yes. Pratunam and Sukhumvit have many Indian vegetarian restaurants, and mall food courts have vegetarian stalls. Hotel breakfasts include vegetarian options.
Do Indians need a visa for Thailand?
No. Indian tourists can stay visa-free for up to 30 days. Fill in the free Thailand Digital Arrival Card online within 72 hours before you land.
