Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Rishikesh · Ganga Aarti — Our driver meets you at Dehradun (Jolly Grant) airport, about 20 km away, or Haridwar railway station, about 25 km away, and takes you to your hotel in Rishikesh (40–60 minutes). After rest, cross Ram Jhula and walk along the ghats to Parmarth Niketan for the evening Ganga Aarti, which starts around sunset (about 5:30–6 pm in winter, later in summer). The cafés in Tapovan and around the bridges…
Morning yoga · Beatles Ashram, ghats and Triveni Ghat — Start with a morning yoga session at an ashram or yoga centre near your hotel (drop-in classes are usually 60–90 minutes; fee paid locally unless your hotel includes one). After breakfast, visit the Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutia), where the Beatles stayed in 1968; it lies inside the Rajaji Tiger Reserve and charges a small entry fee. Spend the afternoon at the ghats and markets, and see the…
To Shivpuri · Optional rafting and bungee · Riverside camp — After breakfast, check out and drive about 16 km upstream to your camp at Shivpuri. If you have booked rafting, you raft the 16 km Shivpuri–Rishikesh stretch (Grade II–III rapids, 2.5–3 hours, with a certified guide, helmet and life jacket), and a vehicle brings you back to camp. Those who have booked the bungee jump go to Mohan Chatti, about 20 km from Rishikesh, in the morning slot. Spend the…
Riverside morning · Departure — Wake up by the river, join the camp's morning yoga or a short walk along the beach, and have breakfast. Check out by about 10 am and drive to Dehradun airport (about 35 km, 1 hour) or Haridwar railway station (about 40 km, 1–1.5 hours). Flights or trains after 1 pm work best.

Good to know
Rafting and riverside camps are suspended during the monsoon, roughly July to mid or late September; the district administration decides the reopening date each year based on river levels. In 2026, rafting was again suspended in late September after heavy rain. Check with us before booking dates in September or early October.
Bungee jumping has age, weight and health limits (usually 12+ years and roughly 40–110 kg), and is not allowed for people with heart, back or blood pressure problems or during pregnancy. Rafting usually needs participants to be 14+ and able to follow safety instructions.
Book rafting only with licensed operators who provide helmets, life jackets and a trained guide. Do not raft after drinking alcohol.
Rishikesh is a pure vegetarian town; meat, eggs and alcohol are not sold within municipal limits. The cafés serve good South Indian, Israeli and Continental vegetarian food.
The river water is very cold even in summer. Carry a change of clothes, quick-dry wear and sunscreen for rafting days, and a warm layer for camp evenings from October to March.
Questions travellers ask
Are rafting and bungee included?
No. They are add-ons, because they depend on season, age, weight and health. We can book them with licensed operators and add the cost to your quote.
Is rafting safe for beginners?
Yes. The 16 km Shivpuri stretch is the standard beginner route with Grade II–III rapids. A guide steers each raft and everyone wears a helmet and life jacket. You do not need to know how to swim, but you must follow the guide's instructions.
Can families with children do this trip?
Yes. The Aarti, ghats, Beatles Ashram and camp are fine for all ages. Rafting is usually for 14+ and bungee for 12+ within weight limits; younger children can enjoy the beach at the camp.
Will we get non-vegetarian food?
Not in Rishikesh town, which is vegetarian by local rule. Some camps outside town serve non-vegetarian food; ask us when booking.
Does the price include flights?
No. We pick you up at Dehradun airport or Haridwar station. We can book flights to Dehradun or trains to Haridwar and quote with and without them.
